Data Canvas is an interactive, visual showcase of how data is interpreted, represented and stored by computers. Text entered is broken down into multiple forms including UTF-8, Hexadecimal and Binary representation. Whilst these formats appear different to us, they are fundamentally the same and interchangeable within the memory of machines. The goal of Data Canvas is to demonstrate a technical concept in a creative way, and make us think differently about the underlying mechanism behind the storage of data.
